Javascript is a special computer language which allows the web page to be more interactive. Some, like the date below, does not require the user to do anything. If you come back tomorrow, the date will have changed.
Javascript is also being used when you get a prompt asking for information, or when a warning box pops-up. You see this a lot in forms. Javascript checks to see if the information you are entering is all there or in the proper format. Take a look at the Web a Web Page form. There are two examples. (Hint, try to tab by the phone or e-mail lines without an entry in either box. This Contest is Over! That is why the send button is gone.
"At Pumpkintree Theatre, we love to hear from you. We are currently seeking suggestions
for a musical for next year's season. If you have a show you would like us to consider, please click on the
sunflower below. Thank-you."

One of the most common uses of Javascript is in rollovers. Every time an image or text changes when you
move the mouse over it, it is a rollover. This is a very simple example.
Now that you are finished playing with the rollover,
please click on the mask!
